Session Type: Workshop
At AERA 2019, the Data SIG held a session to address key topics to move the field forward. Also, at the conference, the SIG forged an alliance with Research Use SIG to combine overlapping interests. The proposed interactive workshop is, in part a continuing exploration of how to move the field forward through the development of a research and practice agenda. The objective for the proposed follow-up session will be to deeply explore how current work on data and evidence can be translated into agendas for improved and forward-thinking research, policy, professional development, and practice. Another objective will be to examine research and theory and determine how they can best be translated into impactful actions for practice, development and policy.
