Session Type: Symposium
This session will discuss the commonalities and differences between teaching comparative education to students who will help influence local to global educational systems and structures. As a larger project, the presenters represent a some of the prominent comparative/international education (CIE) scholars who were asked to write short writings with a maximum of five citations/references on key, self-defined aspects of teaching CIE. With many years combined of experience in teaching CIE in different parts of the world, the session represents teaching CIE in various socio-historical contexts, through various epistemological and theoretical perspectives, and with various pedagogical tools within diverse learning spaces. As well, some presenters will discuss how CIE need to be "with" other pedagogies (e.g., teacher education and environmental pedagogies).
