Session Type: Symposium
The session addresses crises, such as global meltdowns or the global food system that structure poverty and war. If education is to transform humans, the social formation of new generations is key. New forms of their education represent the main route which history will follow whilst creating the new type of man (Vygotsky 1932/1994, p.81). The critical examination of needed steps and current efforts to prevent dangers facing us is a goal. We address key questions (What kind of person are we raising, with what kinds of capacities and dispositions to thrive in what remains of the Anthropocene? We anticipate a lasting discussion through a unique interactive symposium panel facilitating engagement with both live and virtual audiences.
