Session Type: Structured Poster Session
This structured poster session brings together 11 groups of researchers working in the field of dialogic teaching. The researchers come from different disciplinary backgrounds, such as psychology, education, linguistics, and philosophy. They bring to the session experience from diverse national contexts, including Canada, Cyprus, the Czech Republic, Israel, Taiwan, the United Kingdom, and the United States. The session offers an opportunity to explore similarities and differences in researchers’ emerging theories and evidence about the interplay between the qualities of written texts that students read and produce, classroom discourse characteristics, and approaches to dialogic teaching. The session will examine and refine current understandings about the use and production of texts in dialogic teaching and identify directions for future studies.
