The papers in this session are based on chapters from an upcoming edited book series focused on helping instructors of educational psychology with foundational topics of the field (e.g., motivation, learning, development, assessment). All papers come from the inaugural volume “teaching on assessment” where authors examine current research and theoretical issues of assessment related practices in the classroom. The goal of the symposium is to help those who teach core educational psychology courses to preservice teacher candidates incorporate key issues and uses of assessment in the classroom
