Session Type: Symposium
This symposium seeks to create space to critically question science education research with the aim of moving toward more equitable research, and ultimately more equitable science instructional practices. The international panelists will cast a critical gaze on the theoretical lenses and methodologies that we employ in our research. Panel presentations from our four diverse research projects conducted in primary, secondary, and out-of-school contexts will be shared and will serve as the starting point for discussing critical questions regarding the theoretical and methodological approaches we employ. Following panel presentations, attendees will engage in small-group conversations as a means to create awareness, to discuss, and to share resources relative to our research investigating science education in diverse cultural and linguistic settings.
