Session Summary

Where Do We Go From Here? Reimaging Educational Contexts in the Era of '45

Mon, April 20, 4:05 to 5:35pm, Virtual Room

Session Type: Symposium

Abstract

This panel examines how young people of color and educators are processing, navigating, and surviving the election of Trump. The panelists explore the varied ways youth of color not only think about this moment but resist and the role their educators play in cultivating their political identities. Panelists also consider the challenges educators encounter when trying to support their students. Through an interdisciplinary approach, these four qualitative projects situate perspectives often relegated to the margins and positions them as potential road maps by which to resist and reimagine a future that not only affirms youth of color but equips them to be active participants in fighting for change.
