Session Summary

Current International Practices and Challenges in Social and Emotional Learning Intervention Programs

Mon, April 20, 8:15 to 10:15am, Virtual Room

Session Type: Symposium

Abstract

The symposium is based on last year’s successful event and aims to offer perspectives on social and emotional learning (SEL) initiatives across the world. This year the symposium will focus on the implementation of intervention programs with preschool through high school-aged students and the universal challenges faced by practitioners, researchers, and policymakers. The first paper will discuss recent research on intervention best practices and key implementation factors, serving as a foundation for the session. The next four papers will focus on the implementation of SEL intervention in four different countries: Mexico, Brazil, the United Arab Emirates, and Singapore. Finally, the discussant will offer her perspective on the programs presented and we will engage the audience in questions and a discussion.
