Session Type: Symposium
In this session we present, propose and discuss the methodology of survey experiments, which has been little approached in educational research. Survey experiments are increasingly applied in different social sciences fields due to its advantages over other widespread methods. Survey experiments allow us to overcome drawbacks of direct questioning or observational studies and are particularly effective in drawing causal relationships while exploring socially sensitive issues.
By presenting different papers that deal with substantive educational topics, we show to what extent this methodology is suitable for educational research and how it responds to robustness criteria. This session also has the ambition of being a scientifically relevant place in which perspectives and analysis strategies around the survey experiments are shared and discussed.
