As US educators grapple with how to prepare globally-civic-minded students for the 21st century, four institutions (Berkeley, Foothill College, Stanford, and UCLA) have pursued efforts to better internationalize curricula at K-12 schools and community colleges through programming and partnerships. All three universities are recipients of Department of Education Title VI funding and are designated National Resource Centers; Foothill is actively internationalizing its curriculum in partnership with Stanford and conducting research on similar efforts across the California community college system. All evaluation efforts have provided iterative feedback throughout the program development and implementation phases and have helped identify successes and challenges. Results from longitudinal efforts to qualitatively evaluate program effectiveness will be presented.
