Session Type: Symposium
This session will demonstrate the power of leveraging an intergenerational community of practice for 21st century learning and equitable community development. The presentations in this session all discuss implementation of YRP (Youth Research and Plan), a participatory action research learning strategy that forges connections between cities and schools, and adults and youths. Each presentation discusses different learning outcomes centered around four 21st Century Skills and is told from the perspective of different practitioners: a high school educator, a doctoral student researcher, and a city planner. This session seeks to forward thought on the importance of intergenerational communities of practice for young people’s learning and equitable community development.
