Session Summary

Scholar to Scholar: A Collaboration Between Practitioner Scholars, Researchers, and Organizational Stakeholders

Sun, April 19, 8:15 to 9:45am, Virtual Room

Session Type: Roundtable Session

Abstract

The purpose of this symposium, Scholar to Scholar: A Collaboration Between Practitioner Scholars, Researchers and Organizational Stakeholders, is to build upon the well-received past symposium titled Scholarship from Within the Trenches (First Author, 2017), where practitioner scholars shared their research during the 2017 AERA annual conference in San Antonio, Texas. The current proposed symposium will continue to explore practitioner-led scholarship and partnership research that are impacting transformation from within PK-12 educational contexts. By providing a venue for this research collaboration between PK-12 practitioner scholars, education researchers and community stakeholders, this symposium hopes to bridge the gap between theory and practice, expanding the AERA platform for research, practice, and policy into the schools and communities practitioners and researchers serve.
