Session Type: Pre-Conference Mentoring Session
This session will connect educators, researchers, and practitioners in the professions with senior scholars from diverse disciplines with varied expertise working in the San Francisco area (UC Berkeley and Stanford). The purpose is for participants to engage with current thought leaders whose work can help to advance professions education research and to generate opportunities for future interdisciplinary collaborative projects. Participants will be asked to review selected readings prior to the session and then engage in small-group interactive discussions during the session about those readings with thought leaders. Sociocultural, structural, and mathematical paradigms are among those that will be represented by the thought leaders. Upon completion of this session, participants will have gained new knowledge from outside of their areas of expertise that can help to inform their work, as well as created new professional connections.
