Abstract

Mentoring is important, not only because of the knowledge and skills students can learn from mentors, but also because mentoring provides professional socialization and personal support to facilitate success in school and beyond. The panels will share their experiences, thoughts, and advice on how to seek and maintain students on as they start and continue their educational journey. Research shows that students who experience mentoring also have a great chance of navigate undergraduate and graduate studies, securing academic positions, and opportunities for greater career advancement. This session will also cover qualities of effective mentorship, empower students and learn about the impacts of mentorship.
