Abstract

In this Vice Presidential Town Hall a group of activist scholars and community partners with a history of melding research and grassroots educational organizing as part of a larger project of movement building, aim to ignite and inform critical dialogue using our experiences linking urban educational research to grassroots organizing around equity and justice, with a "future-oriented historiography" as our framework. Drawing on Robin D. G. Kelley's book, Freedom Dreams: The Black Radical Imagination, and related literature, each will offer brief commentary on their collaborative efforts as a foundation for wider exchanges with Town Hall attendeesĀ·
