Session Type: Pre-Conference Mentoring Session
Over the course of this session, participants will engage in exchanging knowledge(s) about better understanding the field research focused on Black education. Topics include: developing an active research agenda, pursuing community opportunities that allow for meaningful praxis, examining tenure-track processes that center teaching and service, maximizing opportunities for publication success, protecting oneself in the public sphere of intellectualism, and managing thee demands of the career field. Participants will also build connections with junior and senior scholars in attendance with the goal of developing a mini-research project for publication by 2021. This workshop is intended for post-doctoral scholars, scholar practitioners, and pre-tenured/early-career faculty.
