Session Summary

Why Can't You Get Into Schools?

Thu, April 16, 9:00am to 12:00pm, Virtual Room

Session Type: Pre-Conference Mentoring Session

Abstract

The theme of this year’s annual conference surrounds collaboration with all stakeholders. Interestingly, it is difficult for academics to actually get into schools to conduct research. There are myriad reasons, none more important than navigating bureaucracy and establishing relationships. This workshop outlines barriers to getting into schools and presents potential solutions to bridging the research-to-practice gaps. By the end of the workshop, participants will have a strategic plan to help them be a part of a collaborative teaching/research partnership that benefits all stakeholders. The cost of this workshop also includes three years of membership dues to the Research Use SIG. The fee for this session is $75 per person including a morning break. Reserve your spot on the Annual Meeting registration portal.
