This paper proposes a philosophical argument to justify the creation of simulated public realm learning experiences as a new form of civic education at American community colleges. The argument is based on the political theory of Hannah Arendt. After explaining the need for this kind of learning experience, we show how Arendt's writings justify the development of these activities. We close by offering an example of a case study that might be used to accomplish this objective.
