ePortfolios as Overarching High-Impact Practice for Bachelor of Education Programs

Mon, April 20, 10:35am to 12:05pm, Virtual Room

Abstract

This research study examined how eportfolios can serve as an over-arching high impact practice (HIP) for a Bachelor of Education (B.Ed.) program. From faculty interviews and a student survey the findings suggest that students use an eportfolio as a HIP throughout a B.Ed. program to digitally connect their HIP learning experiences by: having all their program competency artifacts in one place to connect, critique, and reflect upon; being able to document their professional growth; journaling in each of their courses; and peer mentoring and collaboration.
