Sat, April 18, 2:15 to 3:45pm, Virtual Room

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to examine measurement properties of the Questionnaire of English Self-Efficacy scale (QESE) among Vietnamese college students. Item Response Theory model, in particular the Rasch model, were applied to examine reliability and validity evidences of QESE. The current study is the first attempt to investigate the psychometric properties of the scale with Vietnamese students. Results show that the scale measures largely satisfy the Rasch model for unidimensionality. The rating scale appeared to function effectively. Overall, person ability and item difficulty were well matched. The results from this study lend support to previous work on validity and reliability evidences of the scale.
