Our work in teacher education calls for us to confront the struggles for public education. This paper focuses on four Asian American MotherScholars, describing our path toward a shared commitment to addressing racial injustice and oppression in teacher education. Within the context of our role as educators who prepare teachers and educational leaders for social change, we bring forth the awareness that who we are matters. We seek to bring awareness and to challenge the colonial ways in which certain forms of knowledge is constructed, legitimized, and disseminated in institutions of higher education by placing marginalized voices - our individual and shared narratives - at center and forward towards collective solutions grounded in resistance, collectivity, and love.
