Teachers who work in leadership positions as teachers on special assignment (TOSAs) in K12 school districts possess unique qualities, skills, and attributes that propel them to the role of a coach, mentor, and guide at the school site level or in the district. This study examines the background, intentions, strategies and tensions of instructional teacher leaders who support and provide professional development for in-service K12 teachers. Qualitative findings indicate participants valued belonging to spend time helping teachers integrate technology in their classroom to achieve positive outcomes aligned with state standards and frameworks, district mandates were one of many barriers to technology use.
