A growing population of Students of Color at postsecondary institutions across the nation begs the question why the representation of their racial/ethnic identities are not being met with their faculty members. The problem that this paper addresses is the lack of Deaf Faculty of Color employed at predominately hearing- and white-populated universities and community colleges. The research design of this study used grounded theory, framing with Deaf Latinx Critical theory (“Deaf LatCrit,” García-Fernández, 2014), which is compatible for the general experiences of Deaf People of Color. There has been a gap in knowledge and practice because there is not sufficient information published or accessible on the experiences of this particular marginalized group of faculty until now.
