"Give Me the Eraser! Stop Erasing My Existence(s)!" Poetic Munching on Intersectional Ableism

Abstract

In addressing the dearth of scholarship around intersectional ableism, we utilize our experiences of the importance of entwining intersectional ableism within the conversation of democracy, emotionality, intersectionality, socio-spatial justice, and inclusion. Our collaborative autoethnography enabled us to structure living documents of mutual alternative experiences of intersectional ableism as individuals with multiply marginalized identities in higher education. As we negotiate and disrupt boundaries, we intentionally engaged with the framework of Disability Justice and “access intimacy” and “forced intimacy as a means of bridging between our communities within spaces that acknowledge and affirm our holistic multidimensional beings. We constructed found poetry to reflect the complexity and fluidity of intersectional ableism within our day to day mundaneness for organizational change in higher education.
