Session Type: Structured Poster Session
In the session, informal learning environments (ILEs) researchers and professionals present thirteen projects that address challenges and reveal new opportunities in conducting ILE research during a global pandemic. Examples of conceptual, methodological, analytical, and practical pivots in ILE research and program implementation are highlighted. Studies represent all stages of completion; a range of informal learning settings (e.g., science center, aquarium, art museum, after-school program, and digital learning environment); and learning across the lifespan (early childhood to adulthood). The audience will engage in conversations with graduate students, early career researchers, and prominent ILE scholars about best practices for ILE research and program delivery in the midst of community health guidelines that restrict access to research participants and ILEs.
