This presentation includes papers that take advantage of a range of data sources and perspectives to provide a picture of curriculum and remote instruction in the U.S. during school closures as a result of COVID-19. These data include nationally representative and state-representative survey data from school leaders and teachers, as well as interviews with district leaders and analyses of school district responses to COVID based on district website data. We particularly examine how state and school district policies were related to the provision of equitable instruction in Spring 2020, as well as rural distirct priorities and decisionmaking during school closures. Lastly, we consider how our research methods supported participation in data collection during COVID disruptions.
