Session Type: Symposium
We share a framework, labeled critical leadership praxis, as a way of equipping educational leaders of all settings, as well as researchers who study leadership, academics who teach leaders, and those who shape and drive policy, with the knowledge, conceptual tools, and applied skills necessary for bridging critical theory and leadership practice in service of educational equity. In this symposium, we focus specifically on racial equity as a fundamental goal that cuts across all other goals for social change in the United States, and we illustrate how educational leaders can understand and apply critical leadership praxis with an explicit commitment to dismantling racial inequities in our schools.
