Session Type: Symposium
Academic book publishing is distinct from other types of book publishing and scholars must make deliberate choices about what to publish, the type of audience, and how book-length work fits into a longer scholarly trajectory. The aim of this session is to share with the audience of the Research Focus on Education and Sport SIG, the additional complexities of publishing for scholars, educators, and practitioners on topics of college sports. This symposium will feature scholars who have published a range of books on college sports and will offer practical advice for how to navigate the book publishing process - from deciding when to commit to book length work to public scholarship of a published volume in today’s academic marketplace.
