Session Type: Roundtable Session
This session describes the process our university took to answer the call from Black Lives Matter by collectively stoking the fire and harnessing our energies to sustain the momentum for impactful change. The faculty and students co-created a solidarity statement that exemplified the engaged, compassionate, and ethical leadership outlined in our university mission and vision to ensure sustainability through the intentional infusion of social justice tenets into teaching, learning, research, community engagement, and work of the university. Using the materials and topics curated through our #BLM Social Justice and Advocacy Series along with lessons learned from developing this series, session attendees are encouraged to dialogue about intentional support of Black lives and identify deliberate actions to dismantle the current systems.
