Session Type: Business Meeting
This session will include a business meeting providing membership updates as well as a keynote address by outgoing Division D Vice President Cindy Walker. In the keynote address, “Measurement: The Heart of Teaching and Learning,” Dr. Walker will counter common critiques and misperceptions related to large-scale standardized achievement tests and propose ways to overcome challenges associated with these tests in order to advance student learning, critical thinking, and reasoning.
This session will also include a reception with topic-specific breakout rooms, discussions, and opportunities for networking. Each breakout room will be led by an expert on a specific topic. Attendees will be able to choose breakout rooms aligned with their interest and will be able to exchange contact information digitally.
