This quantitative research study investigated the differences in self-reported emotional intelligence (EI) scores of school-level administrators and perceptions of EI of other school-level administrators. Two sets of data were collected utilizing the Administrator Attribute Survey (AAS), which was comprised of the Self-Report Emotional Intelligence Test (SREIT) and the Administrator Emotional Intelligence Perception Test© (AEIPT). Independent samples t-test revealed differences in self-reported EI of administrators by gender, educational attainment, years of experience in education, and years of experience as an administrator at the school site. Inferential analysis of mean SREIT scores of school-level administrators were significantly higher than mean AEIPT scores.
