A Part, but Apart: An Exploration of Legitimacy-Seeking Goals, Behaviors, and Outcomes Within ROTC

Abstract

Intra-organizational relationships are common in higher education, yet not fully understood. ROTC programs are one such partnership. Knowledge about legitimacy-seeking efforts is needed. Using data from 111 ROTC programs, we analyze legitimizing goals, behaviors, and outcomes to advance knowledge about institutional partnerships and organizational legitimacy in higher education.
