Abstract

The Navigated Learning approach provides learners, instructors, and administrators real-time data to support metric informed decisions. The research in this paper builds on the conceptual framework and early pilot studies (Authors, 2019), expanding to a wide variety of levels and grades. Middle school learners in two districts (n=271; n=265) with learners of all abilities, implemented Math Navigator, a supplemental competency aligned experience. Both districts demonstrated significant learning gains across all learner levels with a 3-month implementation and a varied approach to using the Learning Navigator tools. These results validate the ability and flexibility of the Navigated Learning approach, and they enable Math Navigator to scale to over 10,000 learners in Lab schools for the 2020-21 school year.
