This empirical study examines the phenomenon of leadership continuity and its relationship to institutional success. This qualitative inquiry, based on interviews with senior administrative and faculty leaders, examines institutional change over a three decade period at one public comprehensive university. It surfaces how continuity of leadership has enabled the institution to significantly improve student success while building a culture of innovation.
