The purpose of this paper is to investigate the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on teachers and learners at all academic levels (kindergarten to college and beyond) that are engaged in remote learning. The main lens adopted in our study is the concept of obuchenie, a Russian term that Vygostky used to describe the symbiotic nature of teaching and learning that enhances the cognitive and overall development of the learners. A mixed-methods approach will be used to analyze the results of a survey instrument that asks teachers and learners about their educational experiences during the Covid-19 era. Anticipated results include factors that facilitate the delivery of instruction and that lead to an increase in readiness for teachers and students.
