In this project, the role of the district research leader (DRL) is explored to gain a better understanding of the individual, organizational, and job-specific factors that enable those in the role to serve successfully as knowledge brokers. Specifically, publicly available information, job related documents, interviews, and focus groups were used to collect information from DRLs who belong to a professional peer-support network. Findings provide information on the responsibilities, opportunities, and challenges inherent in the role.
