The main goal of this paper is to propose knowledge maps as a tool to capture and represent knowledge brokerage in education systems. We suggest a five step procedure to build knowledge maps: (1) case identification, (2) gather evidence, (3) develop case vignettes, (4) create a visual representation, and (5) knowledge map validation. Each of these steps are elaborated upon by virtue of a case study from a larger research project which aimed to increase our understanding of research brokerage. We conclude by presenting a discussion of the benefits and challenges of producing knowledge maps.
