Thu, April 8, 3:00 to 4:00pm EDT (3:00 to 4:00pm EDT), SIG Sessions, SIG-Special and Inclusive Education Research Roundtable Sessions

Abstract

Despite the increasing use of data-based decision-making (DBDM) in educational settings, there is little research detailing how teachers use DBDM to support students learning disabilities. In this paper, we employed a multiple baseline across participants design to evaluate how educational technology like NumberShire Integrated Tutor System can increase their engagement in DBDM and improve their knowledge to differentiate their core math instructions Results indicated positive changes regarding effective teaching practices describing how educational technology can be used to improve teaching practices like DBDM and differinated instruction. The study provides researchers with an example of how implementation frameworks can be conducted to support the development and effectiveness of educational technology in inclusive classroom settings.
