What Does It Mean to Be a Hispanic-Serving Insitution? Listening to the Voices of Latina/o/x Faculty

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to examine what Hispanic Serving Institution (HSI) designation means to Latinx faculty in a public 4-year Research one (RI) university. This qualitative case study used interviews and identified the following themes: lacking Latinx leadership, doubt of servingness, and designation exclusivity.
