Abstract

Faculty Preconference Seminar: This seminar explores mid-career pathways in and beyond the academy, including processes of promotion and projects of importance to scholars and their fields. Mentors in and outside the academy will share their stories of how they thought about their careers and the pathways they followed on their career journeys. These stories will include processes of promotion but also experiences with projects of great importance to them. Mentors will facilitate small and large group discussions in which mid-career scholars discuss their goals and concerns regarding their post-tenure careers or mid-career decisions.
