Session Type: Invited Speaker Session
This moderated discussion will focus on the complexities and promises of inclusive education for students with disabilities. Multiple perspectives from research, policy, and practice will be shared. Panelists will cover a variety of timely topics such as, the affordances and constraints of inclusion rights; the historical entanglements of disability with race, gender, language and social class; and the diversity of perspectives on inclusion used by special education and disability studies scholars. Lessons and insights will be offered within the context of policy, educational practices and programs, research, personnel preparation models, and family/community partnerships.
