In this research, we explore teacher leadership research and activities rooted in social justice. Our goal is to reimagine and redefine teacher leadership as a vehicle to create more socially just schools for all, especially those from historically underserved backgrounds. This work draws on social justice leadership and culturally responsive school leadership frameworks. Data include assignments from a teacher leadership course where candidates create an educational product designed to engage an element of their campus in justice and equity-oriented activities. Through analysis of student work, we imagine revisions for future enactments of the course and offer glimpses of how we cultivate teachers who are prepared to lead for social justice as well as areas of growth for our own teaching.
