Teacher leaders can become the linchpins for greater equity within schools as their reach starts on the ground level promoting change for students in their classrooms as well as influencing and leading their colleagues. Unfortunately, teachers often do not receive enough preparation within their certification programs to necessarily support their development as inservice teachers who center equity in their practice Therefore, TLs need opportunities for high quality job-embedded professional learning to support their learning about equity. The purpose of this presentation is to share findings from a study of TLs engaged in job-embedded professional learning within an innovative teacher leadership academy. Data collection included: interviews, surveys, field notes, and documents.
