Abstract

Regulatory sciences is an emerging and rapidly evolving field concerned with promoting the health of society through ensuring the safety, quality, and efficacy of medical products.
A significant challenge facing this budding profession is accessibility to educational programs.
Through an empirical search of the International Association of Universities World Higher Education Database (IAU WHED), this research describes regulatory sciences education accessibility issues using sub-Saharan Africa as a case study. The research also proposes models for making regulatory sciences education accessible in both high- and low-resourced economies.
The proposed models are generalizable to other professions in this age of rapid technological advancements and increased competency requirements for professionals.
