In responding to the needs for racial justice and equity –minded leadership, co-researchers who teach in an educational leadership doctoral program which emphasizes preparing students as culturally responsive and equity-minded leaders who champion social justice through actions and words, interviewed 32 doctoral program alumni to discern their conceptualizations of social justice leadership and actions that they identify as pivotal examples of anti-racist school leadership.
The purpose of the study was to understand how Ed.D. graduates conceptualize their commitment to social justice and equity and translate this commitment into practice.
The research questions were:
How do these educational leaders conceptualize anti-racist educational leadership?
What are key examples of leadership actions to advance anti-racist educational leadership?
