Fri, April 22, 11:30am to 1:00pm PDT (11:30am to 1:00pm PDT), World Educational Research Association Virtual Meeting Rooms, WERA Virtual Meeting Room 1

Abstract

The differentiation of learning outcomes (LOs) is a key strategy in provision for children with special educational needs (SEN) (Benet and Gitomer 2009). However, there has been little attention to the ways in which teachers differentiate such outcomes, nor how they can be supported in such differentiation. This project explores the structured differentiation of (LOs) for children with SEN via the use of a LO management system, in mainstream elementary schools in Kuwait and UK. Data on implementation of structured LOs, and children with SEN’s learning achievement are being collected from classed in 4 schools in Kuwait and UK. Initial results will illuminate how a structured technology-supported LOs approach may enhance the inclusion of children with SEN in both territories.
