This paper starts by outlining the key functions of the Collaborative Adult Learning Model (CALM) first proposed in the work of Chen (2020), while Art is adopted as an inclusive and flexible subject for use within the model. The focus of this current paper is to examine the CALM in the light of the five assumptions of Andragogy, and identify any additional insights from the work of Knowles. The conclusion indicates that the CALM provides an inclusive and flexible approach to adult learning in a range of settings, while it can also be enhanced to address the issues of age-related learning and suggests that training can be included to enable teachers to “unfreeze” learners’ fixed habits and patterns of thoughts.
