Session Type: Symposium
Data ethics have been important in educational practice, but never more so than in the wake of the pandemic. Data ethics are more than protecting privacy and confidentiality; the topic is about responsible and appropriate data use. Yet codes of ethics and state standard only tangentially address the topic. This session will examine the landscape of data ethics, highlighting the roles of accountability and equity that impact practice. The session will present use cases and consider recommended steps to help build awareness and capacity to support responsible data use.
