Abstract

This demonstration is provided by the documentary, “Transfronterizx Optics: Storytellers of the San Diego-Tijuana Borderlands” at Transfronterizx Futures, a forthcoming federal 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization serving as a hub dedicated to creating initiatives focused on the social justice of the Transfronterizx community at the San Diego-Tijuana border region and along the U.S-Mexico borderlands. The mission of Transfronterizx Futures is to promote the social justice of the Transfronterizx community by creating inclusive, validating, and equitable initiatives through research, multimedia storytelling, activism, and policy advocacy. The goal of this documentary is to create a safe space of inclusion, validation, and empowerment for Transfronterizx students in postsecondary and higher education at the San Diego-Tijuana borderlands, through participatory filmmaking.
