Session Type: Symposium
Learning environments ideally align to the challenges posed by specific learning contexts. Robust intake – and learning environment procedures and specific contemporary support for preservice and in-service teachers’ professional development, is lacking in the current literature. Psychosocial characteristics of classroom environments are frequently monitored by applying Likert-scale student perception questionnaires. Despite the strengths, Likert-scale questionnaires have many limitations. Reinforced by the general challenge posed by the pandemic, knowledge about effective online learning environments is called for. In this symposium, contributions to solutions to the mentioned contemporary challenges will be addressed and discussed by presenting four unique studies providing insights for assessments and strategies to support effective teaching in turbulent times.
